Multi-Process Bespoke Trophies for Radical Racing

MD Peter Tyler is a keen racing enthusiast and has been racing for Radical for many years so it was a great pleasure to be given the opportunity to make two sets of trophies at the beginning of this year.
Bespoke Trophies – Created in House
The first set of trophies were for the end of the 2021 season and were created using many of our in house processes. Starting with the wooden bases and the sculptural Radical ‘R’ – these two parts were carefully routed in two different sizes and painted black.
The bases were digitally surface printed with the sponsor logos and the Rs were faced with a precision laser cut piece of stainless to fit the shape of the wood and were digitally printed with the Radical branding and depicted either a gold, silver, bronze or red stripe – depending on the trophy type.
Each trophy had an individually laser marked plaque in stainless steel adhered to the front, which displayed the winners and team information. Each trophy was then constructed and finished by hand.
Multi-Process Bespoke Trophies
The second set of trophies marked the first race of the 2022 season at Donington Park – the half octagon wooden bases were routed with a chamfered edge, painted black and digitally surface printed with the track name.
Individually laser cut stainless steel plaques for each of the sponsor logos and positions were digitally printed and adhered to each side of the base.
A thick clear acrylic back panel was reverse printed with the radical branding and each trophy depicted a 1st, 2nd or 3rd, cut into the acrylic. Lastly a precision laser cut race track outline of Donington Park was cut from aluminium to stand in front of the back panel, giving a layered look to the trophy.
