How do we guarantee good quality labels?
More work than you think goes into the manufacture of labels – and as far as we’re concerned, it’s certainly an all-round team effort from the moment a customer first gets in touch with us to when they receive their end product. But what do we believe are the key ingredients to enable us to be so confident about the quality of our services?
Our relationship with the customer
Ultimately, our aim is to make you happy – if you’re not, it costs us not only money, but also our reputation. No-one wants to have their time wasted with imperfect or unsuitable labels and we’d rather not have to reprint something that we’ve initially got wrong, so we do everything we can to make sure your product specifications are perfect from the start.
“One of the things I always make sure to do is to go and meet with the customer to see exactly what they require. It’s the only way you can guarantee to 100 per cent get what they are looking for,” explains Dean Wells, our business development manager.
However, not many suppliers have the same attitude these days, with many seeing it as an extra cost, rather than something that can provide long-lasting value and satisfaction.
“The way I look at it is that if you get it right first time, then it’s perfect. If you don’t go to see them and don’t get it right the first time, it’s costing you money again so its a matter of getting things right straight out of the door,” Dean says.
As a result of this approach we are able to keep reworks down to a minimum, saving your time and our money.
When you’re spending cash in any context, it’s important to feel as though your investment is in safe hands. We certainly know what we’re doing when it comes to labelling – as our years of experience demonstrate.
Most of our staff are into double-digit figures for how many years they’ve spent in the industry, whether they work on the sales or production side of our business. In fact, there are only a couple of personnel who we’ve recently taken on – adding to our workforce, rather than replacing personnel – who are new.
Our experience has led to us making countless contacts over the years to ensure that we have access to a network of information to help us do the best job possible.
This can make a significant difference when it comes to knowing how to manufacture the best label to suit your needs, meaning you can be confident that after explaining what you’re planning to use your label for, we can do the rest and provide you with a product that won’t let you down.
It’s our belief that you should never be standing still as a business. With this in mind, we’ve always been keen to lead from the front, rather than follow in the footsteps of our competitors.
For example, we’ve recently invested heavily in new digital printers, which means we can be more cost effective and efficient in the manner we get our labels manufactured – turning around an order much more quickly than we have done in the past.
This focus on using the latest technology also means we can store information like colour references better, so every time a customer returns to us to have a label produced, it doesn’t matter when they come in, they’ll get exactly the same item, time after time.
One of the aspects of our business that we’re really proud of is the range of products that we can offer our customers.
This flexibility is something worth shouting about, according to Dean. “I’ve never come across a company that can produce as much in the way of print as this one – without sacrificing quality.
“Each department complements one another very well and it works a treat. There’s very little I’ve come across in the six years I’ve been here where customers have asked for something that we haven’t been able to handle.”
However, if it turns out that we can’t do what you’re looking for, we won’t waste your time.
“I don’t think you do yourself any favours by trying to pretend you can do something – and you certainly don’t do the customer any favours. A relationship is built on what we can do rather than what we can’t.”
Of course, everyone always makes occasional mistakes, which is why we put real emphasis on quality assurance across the business.
“If you’re not happy with it going out of the door, then don’t send it out and make sure it’s right before it leaves us – thats what I always say to our staff,” explains Dean.
Every label we make is meticulously checked before leaving our facilities – it’s an ethos that’s bred through our company. Just like our attitude towards using the latest technology, we’re always looking to improve quality assurance.
“We’re trying to evolve and keep going forward,” Dean says.
And that, perhaps, says it all.
