Quality Control | Why it Matters

Quality Control | Why it Matters

Articles

Anyone with the right tools can make a product as the processes themselves are quite straightforward with the right know-how and machinery. But will you get a quality product at the end of it? And what measures are in place before, during and after the production process? We have a sequence of quality control measures in place for each and every service and product we offer and here we explain why it is so important.

Offering knowledge and expertise

Our sales team have many years under their belts, they offer knowledge and expertise which is second to none and will only ever recommend the most suitable product for your application. We will happily chat through application, adhesive and material options as well as environment and durability to ensure that the product we manufacture stays where it’s intended, looking great for as long as possible. And, in the unlikely event we aren’t sure… we’ll research the best method and get back to you!

We have an in-house Artwork Studio with a fully equipped team of artworkers and designers ready to take on your brief. The team have a diverse skill set and a wealth of experience in both creative and technical design. They primarily proof artwork approvals and set up the jobs for each production processes they require, but are on hand to advise and assist with artwork related questions throughout the process. You can download our artwork guidelines here.

Why do we proof artwork prior to production? To ensure we have understood the brief, that the artwork and information we have been supplied is correct and that you are happy to give us the go ahead to manufacture your product.

All our processes require different set ups which is why even when we receive a perfectly useable artwork – we have to proof it to our clients – we use the signed off artwork to manufacture from, which means its accuracy is crucial.

Our production staff also need a uniform document to refer to when manufacturing your products, and they will work to the signed off proof approval. This document will follow with the job at each stage of its production journey, completing with a final inspection before despatch.

A continuous program of investment

We are ISO 9001 quality certified – demonstrating high quality management standards and stringent quality control processes. A continuous program of investment in market leading technology and best practice production processes, together with the quality standard’s continual improvement ethos, ensure every product is free of defects and of the highest quality.

We are also a UL Authorised Label Supplier under PGAA.LP1518, PGDQ8.MH63060 and PGDQ2.MH63060. This certifies products, facilities, processes and systems based on industry-wide standards to ensure products are constructed correctly for the highest level of safety. This means that we take your durability requirements to the highest level and keep in tune with the latest requirements of a global forerunner in product testing and durability.

Providing traceability, supplier conformity and assurance

We’re able to offer our clients our First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) service on any of their parts which are manufactured in house. Using our CMM (coordinate measuring machine) we can precisely measure individual first off parts – just a small part of the FAIR process, along with traceability and supplier conformity resulting in the assurance of the tested article. For more information on our Inspection Report service contact us to discuss prior to ordering.

Pre-Production first off checks

Prior to running an entire job, we always ensure a first off check is carried out – whether this is for a batch of printed labels or overlays, or for a run of laser marked free issue parts – the first off must be checked against the signed proof approval. We check the artwork is correct including colour, size, spelling, any technical aspects as well as the finish and quality of the product. Once internally signed off, the whole job will go in to manufacture.

Try before you buy with pre-production samples

If you would like to see your product prior to ordering, we offer pre-production samples for our print, marking and cutting processes. Useful for checking colour, design, finish and size before placing a full order.
Depending on process and quantity, a charge may apply.

Guaranteeing only the highest quality leaves our premises

All our jobs leave via our despatch department, here each job is thoroughly checked, counted and packed with the utmost of care to ensure you receive your products exactly as they left us.

Every product which leaves our factory is quality inspected at each process of its journey and a final quality check before it is despatched to our clients, guaranteeing only the highest quality leaves the premises.
