Bespoke Engraved Plaques – Time Critical Service

Fine Cut were tasked with manufacturing some very prestigious plaques for our clients De Pass Montgomery. The project was had a very short lead time and could not be delayed due to the clients opening date for the Museum.
We’ve been working with De Pass Montgomery for many years and over the last 6 months we have been involved in manufacturing a variety of engraved display products for their ongoing project with the Royal College of Surgeons.
Most recently we have manufactured two dedication plaques to be housed in the College, one for the ‘Bjorn Saven Centre’ for Saven’s donation to the college and one for the restoration of the Library donated by Henry Lumley – both benefactors and long standing friends of the College.
We began by routing both plaques from raw aluminium achieving complete accuracy and precise bevelled edges – next they were CNC engraved with the College’s logo and the inscription for each plaque. CNC offers deep, precision engraving – perfect for text and small detail.

Once engraved the two plaques were anodised in a stunning emerald green which complemented the gold infill, along with white in which a traditional hand spread enamel infill was used for both plaques.
As well as the plaques, we manufactured two sets of precision laser cut letters which underwent the same anodising process. These were to be wall mounted as way finding, and we supplied the client with an installation template for ease of fixing.
We had an incredibly short lead time for these plaques due to a non-moveable delivery date for the museum opening and with a 4 day bank holiday over Easter, time was not on our side. We managed to shave a few days off the lead time ensuring we delivered these to our anodisers a few days ahead of schedule, allowing us ample time for the infilling and finishing of the plaques. The outcome? A very satisfied customer and a top quality product – delivered on time.
