If the Coastwatch have a visual of a casualty they estimate its range and bearing on a chart marked with a cross to show its position They use the slider next to the cross to determine the latitude with the scale on the right hand side and the longitude with the scale on the bottom.

This is a quick and easy process to get the longitude and latitude coordinates to the Coastguard.

Our in house design studio drew up the artwork from hand drawn diagrams as well as recreated the flag illustrations which feature on the slider. The artwork was then reverse printed to 3mm clear acrylic using the Swiss Q digital flat bed with UV cured inks.
