Airport Lounge Install
Case Studies
Fine Cut often have the privilege of working for some high end clients on some really interesting branding projects.
We have been involved in manufacturing parts for the exclusive concept pop up stores for Johnnie Walker’s Explorers’ Club Collection Whiskey in airport lounges across the UK, the first of which debuted at London Heathrow Terminal Four and was the flagship project for design concept builders – Timber Design and designers – MAD Ltd – who we worked closely with on this project.
We were approached by Timber Design to manufacture some of the larger elements of the stores design as we have capabilities to print, cut and engrave on a very large scale and on almost any material. This work included engraving 2m brass rings cut from solid brass – which our engineers CNC engraved using our state of the art 5 Axis machine. The text depicting dates and locations across the globe which ran the circumference of the rings.

These brass rings were to be inlaid into an anodised aluminium surround which we laser cut and engraved with a complex illustration that covered the entire surround showing the journey of Johnnie Walker Whiskey and paid tribute to the travelling heritage of John Walker & Sons agents who travelled the world in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Our team of specialist worked around the clock to ensure we delivered the goods in the tight timescale for this project, with all our departments involved we were able to provide solutions for all the aspects of the project including digital printing, laser and CNC engraving and cutting and engraving.
