Laser marked Sterling Silver discs for a presentation of 60 years – Darings Sailing out of Cowes
We were approached by design agency Imagine Places to source and laser mark Sterling Silver presentation tags celebrating 60 years of the yacht ‘Daring’ sailing out of Cowes since 1961.
Darings are widely considered to be the most elegant keelboats racing on the south coast of England. The Daring was designed as a One Design by Arthur Robb based on his successful 5.5 metre yacht ‘Vision’, the Silver Medal winner in the 1956 Olympics. Supremely designed for punching through the chop of the Solent to windward, with a stately grace missing from most modern boats, she is a boat for those who love strategy, boat handling, skill and the principles of Corinthian racing.
Working closely with Angela from Imagine Places, we sourced a disc large enough to ensure the text and boat design to be engraved were legible. We first needed to punch a suitable sized hole to eat disc for a jump ring to be fitted then they would be laser marked. Available in both a light and dark laser mark, Angela and her committee chose a light laser marking depicting the classic “Daring” yacht along with the words ‘Darings sailing out of Cowes since 1961’
