25 years of service

We are proud to announce that Steve Ruff, a member of our die cutting team, has now been working for Fine Cut for 25 years.
Steve was employed during the initial few years of Fine Cut and remembers fondly how Peter Tyler, Managing Director, enquired within a local grocery shop, which Steve regularly used, whether they knew of anybody requiring employment as the new company was experiencing rapid growth and required new staff. Steve was employed immediately and begun die cutting coasters for a prestigious client - a skill that he has developed over the years to the point that he now is the most skilled and proficient member of the die cutting workforce.
A memory that probably lingers in everybody's mind, is the hurricane of 1987 that struck the UK. Peter Tyler recalls "I saw a rather disheveled character in my rear view mirror that day, who was frantically waving. As I pulled up along side, it turned out to be no other than Steve who had decided to brave the high winds and rain to walk to work as the trains were not operating. His dedication to the job has long continued and he has turned out to be one of our most loyal and skillful members of staff".
Steves role within the company has been vital throughout, as the die cutting team are a crucial part of the label manufacture process as they cut and finish all of our screenprinted labels and digitally printed labels. As Steve is a religious man and as a token of Fine Cut's appreciation for Steves long service he was awarded a silver cross, which he wears with pride.
From all of us at Fine Cut - a big thank you Steve.
